<P><STRONG>Error:<BR></STRONG>When NovoCRM Express is installed on Windows 7 the first time you start the application it just closes (crashes).</P>
<P><STRONG>Cause:</STRONG><BR>In Windows 7 the connections.xml file is not created because of a security restriction in Windows 7.</P>
<P><STRONG>Resolution:</STRONG><BR>Go to the installation folder for NovoCRM Express and create a new file called Connections.xml. Now start NovoCRM Express again and add new connections.</P>

<P><STRONG>Error:<BR></STRONG>When you open up NovoCRM Express and login you cannot add new records or update existing records when you use the default MS Access database.</P>
<P><STRONG>Cause:</STRONG><BR>The database is read only in Windows 7 when it is installed in the Program Files folder.</P>
<P><STRONG>Resolution:</STRONG><BR>Go to the installation folder and right clck on the folder called database. Now uncheck teh read only option and press ok. This will fix the issue and you will now be able to add and update records.</P>

<P>1. Extract the aspportal.zip file into a location on your server where you will be hosting the portal from.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <EM>Example: c:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspportal\</EM><BR>2. Open and edit the common/ado/connection_open.asp file at line 9, change the following line.</P>
<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;<EM> Default: Application("ConnectionStr") = "provider=microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0;data source=" &amp; server.MapPath("../../data/aspportal.mdb") &amp; ";"<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp; *The default will try to auto connect to the database, but if it cannot find the correct path please update as per the example below.</EM></P>

<P>The MS Outlook Add-in supports both MS Outlook 2007 (Office 12) and MS Outlook 2003 (Office 11). Based on your MS Outlook client you may need to use the specific installer for your MS Outlook version.</P>
<P><STRONG>Resolution</STRONG></P>
<P>The IsLicense40.dll file is missing in the execution path of the Add-in... this can be copied over should it be missing.</P>
<P>Select the NovoCRM Express menu in MS Outlook and click on Info. This will show you the exectuable path. Copy the IsLicense40.dll to the path from the NovoCRM Express installation folder.</P>
<P>Restart MS Outlook. You should now be able to login as normal.</P>

<P>When you install a new version of NovoCRM you may get the error indicating that the service already exists. 
<P><B>Resolution</B></P>
<UL>
<LI>Open up the Control Panel and select Administrative Tools. </LI>
<LI>Select services and move to the service called NovoCRM Server.</LI>
<LI>If it is started then stop it. Once the service is stopped proceed to start it again. </LI>
<LI>Now you can double click on the desktop icon and open the NovoCRM Server Admin Utility. </LI>
<LI>It should not try to install again as the service is already running. </LI></UL>
<P>You can then login to the NovoCRM Server Admin utility and setup your database connections or upgrade an existing database.
